Betty Boop, Olive Oyl, and Aunt Bethany – All one in the Same

Anyone who is a fan of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation remembers Aunt Bethany as the old and forgetful aunt who spends Christmas with the Griswold’s.  She wrapped her cat as a Christmas gift, for goodness sake.

But did you know Aunt Bethany, or actress Mae Questel, was also the voice of the 1930’s cartoon Betty Boop?  Not only that, Mae served as the voice of Olive Oyl in the original Popeye cartoons, as well as the Felix the Cat and Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Good range of acting for a woman who wrapped up her cat for Christmas.
